Real Sociedad vs. Barcelona score: Birthday boy Lewandowski

Barcelona was looking to make a comeback after drawing 0-0 in La Liga's opener. They traveled to San Sebastian to face Real Sociedad.

Robert Lewandowski won the opening match just 44 seconds in. The birthday boy tried to lead the rebound but it was awkward throughout the first 45 minutes.

Barcelona looked disjointed in many areas and displayed key weaknesses that Real Sociedad took advantage. Alexander Isak responded shortly after to even the score.

Halftime saw Real Sociedad fail and the deep Barcelona bench threw the match in favour of Xavi.

Barcelona boss Ansu Fati, a young man from Barcelona, was brought on by his deep bench.

The wide man made all of the difference and produced a pair quickfire assists in just five minutes.

Ousmane Dembele grabbed the game-winner just after the hour mark. Fati was there to provide Lewandowski with his second minute.

Lewandowski then provided the cherry on the cake, providing a spectacular back-heel assist for Fati to Barcelona's fourth game in 11 minutes.

Barcelona now has four points from their two first matches, which is a significant improvement on the season opener.

Real Sociedad was left with regrets after missing a number of opportunities in the first period.

Takefusa Kubo, David Silva and others should have scored big goals.
