Luke Knox, Florida International footballer, and older sister of Buffalo Bills' Dawson Knox Died at age 22.

Florida International football player Luke Knox has passed away at the age of 22 years old, the school announced Thursday.

Knox is a native of Brentwood, Tennessee, and the younger brother of Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox,

played the last four seasons playing at Ole Miss before transfer to FIU.

Knox who was studying business was pronounced dead Wednesday night the school announced.

The cause of death is not known however, the school said police are not suspicious of the involvement of a third party.

"Words cannot express the heartfelt sorrow we feel because of the passing of our teammate and friend, Luke Knox," FIU's head Coach Mike MacIntyre said in a statement.

"I had the honor of coaching Luke at Ole Miss and FIU. While I admired his passion for football,

his genuine love for his family and teammates is what I will always remember. He had a special way of making everyone around him feel comfortable and confident."

Knox was a starter in two games as linebacker at Ole Miss in 2019, in the year that MacIntyre was the defensive coordinator.

 He was a special team player for in the two seasons prior to that and scored 11 tackles, with two of them for loss, in 2021.
