Everton vs. Nottingham Forest score: Demarai Gray scores late as Toffees salvage home draw

Two minutes before the end, Demarai Gray's goal saved Everton from a draw against a Nottingham Forest team that felt it should have won all three points.

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford sent a long ball over the top to Gray, who found Gray in stride and scored the equalizer.

Dean Henderson, Forest's 'keeper, was not impressed. Everton tried hard to score a late winner but the visitors prevailed for a well-deserved point.

Everton won the match with a point, and Forest was promoted to a fourth.

If pre-season projections are anything to go by, this could be a huge result in the race for relegation.

But Henderson was confident in goal for his most outstanding performance in Forest shirt.

The newly promoted side started the match confidently after weathering the initial storm.

Taiwo Awoniyi had an opportunity inside the Everton box but could not score the goal past Pickford.

Morgan Gibbs White, a new PS42.5 million ($50m), signing made his debut in the second period.

Ryan Yates was a substitute. Brennan Johnson scored the rebound in the 81st minute to give the team a temporary 1-0 lead.
